Google Guaranteed is a lead generation feature now offered by Google’s Local Services. Through this certification program, service contractors are able to increase their chance of connecting with customers.
What are the benefits of being “Google Guaranteed?”
Becoming Google Guaranteed offers businesses two great benefits:
- Increases customer confidence in local contractors that are licensed, insured, and bear the Google Guaranteed badge.
- Grants certified businesses the desired “zero” spot in Google search results, thus increasing the opportunity to attract qualified leads.
Google Guaranteed businesses are displayed above the normal pay-per-click (PPC) Google Ads, thus offering a way to quickly rise to the top of Google search results. As you can see below, the Google Guaranteed ad format only allows you to show your company name, customer rating, service area, and hours of operation, but is positioned above the sponsored ads and the Local 3 Pack.
Is my business eligible for the Google Guaranteed Program?
As of this writing (February, 2021), the following industries are eligible for Google Guaranteed: Appliance repair, carpentry, carpet cleaning, countertop services, electrical, fencing, financial planning, flooring, foundations, garage door, house cleaning, HVAC, junk removal, landscaping, law, lawn care, locksmith, moving, pest control, plumbing, real estate, roofing, siding, tax services, tree services, water damage services, window cleaning, and window services.
So is Google Guaranteed worth it?
It really depends on your business’ needs. Since there is a cost per each lead that contacts you through the Google Local Ad, you’ll want to weigh the ROI benefit relative to your other marketing methods.
You’ll also want to consider the level of competition you typically face in your locale for your services. If your industry is highly competitive in your local area, Google Guaranteed may be an excellent way to highlight you above the competition.

Becoming “Google Guaranteed” also means that when a customer books your service through the Google Local Ad, that service is guaranteed for up to $2,000 money-back if the customer is dissatisfied. - High-Intent Leads
Chances are, when someone is searching for appliance repair, HVAC or a plumber, they are in a moment of need and desire an immediate solution. For this reason, leads that come through Google Local Ads tend to have a higher intent quality.
How do I become Google Guaranteed?
You can apply to the program by signing up for Local Services Ads and applying. If the service is available in your area and you receive certification, a badge or logo will be displayed next to your Local Services ad.
When you apply, Google will check your business license, insurance, and online reviews. Owners’ backgrounds are also checked at no cost to you.
